Good Day My Knitting Friends!
A hearty southern greeting to the male knitters of the Southeast and elsewhere! It has been a hot Summer and long wait for the final contract for the Southeast Men’s Knitting Retreat 2023!!! This is our 12th year and I am excited that we will have a new space this year for all activities including meals. We will be preparing our own meals again this year. I am also hoping to have a commemorative item this year to celebrate 12 years of successful retreats. I have a friend who can get us printed items at a good price.
We are back at The YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly in Black Mountain, NC (just East of Asheville). Our new accommodations will be in Weatherford Hall. They are hotel style rooms with a double and single bed in each room. Each room also has its own bathroom. This year’s retreat will be Thursday, November 16th – Sunday, November 19th. This year we are being charged by the room instead of by the entire building so there is no minimum number of attendees for early arrivals. You may choose to arrive early on Wednesday, November 15, just choose Retreat + extra day when you register. Our field trip is an afternoon trip to Black Mountain Yarn Shop at their new location followed by dinner out in town. We will also take a trip to Friends and Fiberworks and Purl’s Yarn Emporium on Thursday morning. I have the contract and will make the deposit as soon as registrations begin to come in. Any excess funds would be rolled over as a “slush fund” for future retreat expenses or given towards scholarships. This still keeps our retreat below the cost of other retreats. Also if you are coming early for the relaxed day (Wednesday evening), we will either order in or drive down to town for dinner. Here are the details for this year’s retreat.

$350.00 – shared housing for 4 days/3 nights (Thurs-Sun, Room, LINENS, meals, and retreat fees!!!)

Check-In Time is 3 pm (11/16), Check-Out Time is 10am (11/19).
I must have at least 20 sign up and pay registration to book the reservation. Private rooms should not be a problem this year as there are 39 rooms available. Sharing is still encouraged.
There will be ABSOLUTELY no refunds, once we reach the 60 Day mark (09/17). In the past if someone has not been able to attend, I have been able to refund money or they graciously donated their spot to someone. This year being on the ball with reservation and fees, I am not sure I would be able to refund full amount within the 60 days.
