Good Day My Yarn-Loving Friends!
A hearty southern greeting to the male knitters/crocheters/weavers, etc. of the Southeast and elsewhere! It has been a hot summer and a long process for planning this year’s retreat!! This is our 13th year and we are excited that we will again be back at The YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly in Black Mountain, NC (just east of Asheville) in the bigger lodge we enjoyed in previous years.
Our accommodations will again be in Weatherford Hall. The hotel style rooms feature a double and single bed in each room as well as a private bathroom.
This year’s retreat will be Thursday, November 12th – Sunday, November 15th. This year we are being charged by the room instead of by the entire building so there is no minimum number of attendees for early arrivals. You may choose to arrive early on Wednesday, November 11, just choose add the Early/Extra day when you register.
We paid the deposit and we have the contract from the YMCA already. Any excess funds, as always, fund the next year’s deposit or future scholarships. Our aim is always to keep our costs as low as possible and, therefore, to keep our price as reasonable as we can for you guys! That being said, rising food costs and venue expenses have driven a small increase this year in attendance prices.
We will be enjoying catered style meals this year (less work in the kitchen) — Woohoo! Tentatively, the menu will feature:
- All Breakfasts (Thurs-Sun) are Continental
- Wednesday: Dinner: Chili/Veggie Chili
- Thursday: Lunch: Out
- Thursday: Dinner: Homemade Lasagna / Lasagna with Roasted Vegetables
- Friday: Lunch: Boxed Lunch (Chicken Salad Sandwich / Caprese Sandwiches)
- Friday: Dinner: Out
- Saturday: Lunch: Boxed Lunch (Club Wraps / Veggie Hummus Wrap)
- Saturday: Dinner: Chicken Enchilada Bake / Stuffed Poblano Chiles
Our field trip is an afternoon trip to Black Mountain Yarn Shop followed by dinner out in town. We will also take a trip to Friends and Fiberworks and Purl’s Yarn Emporium on Thursday morning.

Refund/Cancellation Policy:
A non-refundable deposit of $75 is required. The remaining balance is refundable until September 10, 2026. Cancellations made before this date will receive a refund minus the $75 deposit and any credit card service fees. Spot transfers are allowed between October 1 and October 20, 2026. After October 20, 2026, retreat attendance numbers are locked in with the venue and catering service.
There will be ABSOLUTELY no refunds past September 12th. We always aim to be accommodating, but planning and venue planning require a firm minimum after this date.
